We are going to Foster Beach on Lake Michigan\, Saturday\, June 8th.  \nStudents can arrive at ResCov at 10:30 to carpool with Pastor Kyle and the volunteer staff.\nStudents can also be dropped off at the beach around 11:00 and picked up by 2:00. We are going to be reading through Brian McClaren’s book\, Life After Doom. \n  \nHere is a little more about the book:\nAs our world faces doom of all kinds: ecological disasters and the effects of global warming\, wars and violence\, politics becoming more divisive and polarized\, economic injustice and more – what are we to do? Life After Doom looks reality in its face\, as harsh as it can be\, and “explores the complexity of hope\, the necessity of grief\, and the need for new ways of thinking\, becoming\, and belonging in turbulent times.”\nTW: Please know that all are welcome to join but this book deals with some very harsh realities. Per the author\, “if you are already on the narrow ledge of anxiety and depression because of personal challenges\, grief\, or illness this book is not for you\, at least not right now.”

DESCRIPTION:Our middle schoolers will head up to Covenant Point Bible Camp for a long weekend! If you are interested in sending your child please reach out to Kyle at: kyle@rescov.org \n  \nCome for a weekend of fun and adventure with your youth group! This retreat is a great way to kick off your year of youth ministry – plenty of fun options like the high ropes course\, an Island excursion\, apple pressing\, games\, bonfire\, and enthusiastic worship\, but plenty of space for youth leaders to have quality time and conversation within their groups. Check-in begins at 8:00PM Friday (or whenever your group is able to arrive\, though most groups arrive late Friday evening)\, with our first meal at 8:00AM Saturday and programming starting directly after that. The retreat runs until Monday – and we encourage groups to stay the entire time if able (for some\, Indigenous Peoples’ Day / Columbus Day is a school holiday)\, but if you need to depart on Sunday we have a special rate for that. We are flexible on timing\, just let us know when your group must get on the road. Thanks!

DESCRIPTION:We celebrate Advent this year with a celebration to engage and connect our community in anticipation of the coming of Christ. Several ensembles will join to reflect upon the “Greatest Story Ever Told”.
