In the Bible, the Apostle Paul argues that we are the “body of Christ” and are called out to live for the kingdom of God in our present time. To be the body of Christ means to have faith, trust, and commitment in the continuing hope of God’s work.
Sometimes we have a hard time talking about membership because it sounds more like a club or civic association and not that ancient assembly that seeks first the kingdom of God, together. Our mission friend tradition as an Evangelical Covenant Church is a good way to remember the need for community that has a purpose. We invite you to consider covenanting with us as we seek God’s glory and neighbor’s good in Chicago.
A service of welcoming new members take place each year on All Saints’ and Easter Sundays. There are several membership orientations leading up to the next induction. For more information on the next membership class, please contact Pastor Aaron or our church chair.
