February

Food for Thought | February 5 (after worship)

Food for Thought is an opportunity to come together over a simple meal and engage a topic or issue a little more deeply in community. Join us February 5 after worship, when a seminar group from this past Fall will lead us in a discussion based around the book Divided by Faith: Evangelical Religion and the Problem of Race in America.

Ash Wednesday Service | February 22 (7pm)

Ash Wednesday, or the Day of Ashes as it is sometimes known, developed as a day of penitence to mark the beginning of Lent. It emphasizes a dual encounter: we confront our own mortality and confess our sins before God within the community of faith. Ash Wednesday, as indeed the entire season of Lent, is a time particularly appropriate for new beginnings in the faith, or returning to the Lord. During this time we intentionally recall our own mortality and wait upon the Lord for the renewing of the Spirit. This is a time for putting aside the sins and failures of the past in the light of who we are yet to become by the grace of God. We are prepared by the Spirit so that our participation in the meaning of our Christian faith may be authentic and a true dying and rising with Christ to a new life in God. Join us to worship together as we enter into the season of Lent.

Lenten Services | February 26 through April 1 (7pm)

Sunday evenings during Lent we will gather at 7pm in the sanctuary for a time of contemplative worship.

March

Food for Thought | March 4 (after worship)
